Open Studios Night vol.8

In this autumn edition of Open Studios Night, our new residency artist- Tomoko Hojo (JPN) and Vitaliy Agapeyev (UA) will introduce themselves. As usual, you will get to know on what they are currently working on, what are their future plans and you will have an opportunity to get them to know better. Also, there will be some tasty food prepared by them.

Tomoko Hojo is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher working within the field of experimental music and sound art. Within experimental music and sound art field, Tomoko Hojo’s works take various forms, like a composition, score-based or improvised performance, installation, and academic research. During this residency, Tomoko would proceed with an ongoing project, which uses archive materials especially photographs. The question is ‘how those archives can be sounded?’

Vitaliy Agapeyev is a Ukrainian multidisciplinary artist who likes most of the people of his surroundings started from graffiti. Subsequently, spray painting and stickers began to supplement the graphics works and painting. The basis of his multidisciplinary practice is working with graphics, murals, installations and media art. At this moment Vitaliy works with such concepts as a transgression, consciousness, code, sanctitude, ecology and a synergy of all these concepts in post-internet culture.

The residency program is supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council. The stays are also supported by Košice city and Creative Industry Košice. The residencies are organized in cooperation with Nazar Voitovych Art Residence and Youkobo Art Space.
