Ján Skaličan (1989, Bratislava, SK) is a Slovak visual artist who works mainly within the field of photography and overlaps into thinking about his possibilities at present. His work is a kind of testimony, an attempt to articulate, express the thoughts based on thinking about a particular place and its past in an effort to restore the world’s experience, to the non-transferability of materiality and its memory.
K.A.I.R. Košice Artist in residence and Artist-in-Residence program (AIR) of the Schafhof – European Center for Art Upper Bavaria invite visual or interdisciplinary artists from Upper Bavaria district of Germany to take part in the two-months residency in Košice, Slovakia.
We cordially invite you to the premiere of a short CGI animated movie, which was created during the three-month residency of Serbian artist Sanja Anđelković as a part of the K.A.I.R. Košice Artist in Residence and its theme “Interconnectedness”, which points to the need of today’s society to be aware of its connection with the environment beyond the borders of its own region, state or nation, but also beyond the borders of the human species.
Within the K.A.I.R. residency, Anna Manankina has decided to focus on the mental aspects of the book Three Ecologies by Felix Guattari. He emphasizes the concept of ecology as a tool for analysis and pragmatic suggestion for the future. Her exhibition we will open soon in Šopa Gallery!
