Ola Nenko (PL)
Ola Nenko is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, Faculty of Sculpture. In 2018-2019, she studied at the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto. She is the winner of the 10th edition of the Grey House Foundation competition, distinguished at the 10th Young Artists’ Triennial in CRP in Orońsko, and recipient of the 2023 Minister of Culture and National Heritage Award for the best diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts.

She creates sculptures and scenographic installations, often exploring themes of living spaces, stability, and domesticity. Her recent projects are inspired by reflections on her nomadic lifestyle, leading to a critical analysis of her personal family history and breaking away from imposed patterns. Her works present the concept of home not only as a physical space but also as a concept filled with tensions and contradictions, especially in the context of contemporary challenges related to migration, belonging, and identity.

The residency of Ola Nenko is implemented as part of the international project Deconstructing Myths: Art Residencies in the V4 Region, which addresses the rise of nationalism, particularly in the V4 region, through the exploration of traditional symbols and narratives. The project is carried out in collaboration with partners from the Czech Republic (MeetFactory), Hungary (aqb), and Poland (Goiky 3 Art Inkubator).
The project is supported by the Visegrad fund.
