Meet & Greet w/ Ola Nenko & anto_nie
Come and meet our current residents.
Our Meet & Greet is the perfect opportunity to chat with the artists in person and ask them anything you’re curious about. Ola Nenko and anto_nie will share more about their work, where folklore intertwines with ecology, personal history, and a critical perspective on today’s society – and much more.
We look forward to seeing you there!
OLA NENKO (PL) creates sculptures and scenographic installations, often exploring themes of living spaces, stability, and domesticity. Her recent projects are inspired by reflections on her nomadic lifestyle, leading to a critical analysis of her personal family history and breaking away from imposed patterns.
ANTO_NIE (CZ) is an interdisciplinary artist, game designer, educator and facilitator. In their work they focus on topics like folklore, monstrosity, environmentalism and herbal knowledge. They work with narrative game mechanics of role-playing games, 3D, game engines, immersive audio and other ways of building communal (non)physical spaces. They create miniatures, lead workshops, and educational programs.
The residencies are implemented as part of the international project Deconstructing Myths: Art Residencies in the V4 Region, which addresses the rise of nationalism, particularly in the V4 region, through the exploration of traditional symbols and narratives. The project is carried out in collaboration with partners from the Czech Republic (MeetFactory), Hungary (aqb), and Poland (Goiky 3 Art Inkubator).
You can find more information about the artists and the Deconstructing Myths project on our website www.kair.sk.
The project is supported by the International Visegrad Fund. The residency of anto_nie is also supported by the Czech Centres.
