Meet & Greet w/ Nicola Bizzarri
Join us for a Meet & Greet with KAIR’s current artist in residence, Nicola Bizzarri!
Come and meet the artist, discover his practice, and hear about the ideas and interests that inform his work. Meet & Greet is an informal gathering with room for questions, conversation, and exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.
Nicola Bizzarri (*1996) lives and works between Munich and Bologna. His projects draw on pre-existing images and subjects, using their reproduction and modification to explore cultural representation, collective and individual identity, narration, and history. Working with everyday images, words, notions, and archival material, he situates his practice at the intersection of the lyrical and the political, focusing on the tensions and paradoxes between singularity and collectivity in contemporary (Western) society.
His experimental research takes shape through sculptures, installations, hybrid objects, photographs, and actions, as well as collaborations in educational projects. Production processes play an important role in the conceptual framework of his work, often involving multiple stages of material translation through techniques such as paper-making, bronze and wax casting, analogue photography, sewing, and experiments with language.
He studied at the academies of fine arts in Bologna, Berlin, and Munich. Since 2023, he has been a fellow at Collegio Venturoli in Bologna. He has exhibited and participated in residencies in Italy, Germany, and France.
We look forward to seeing you!
The residency is realised with the support of and in cooperation with Schafhof – European Art Forum Upper Bavaria, a long-standing partner. The project is also supported by the City of Košice.
