The premiere of a short film by a young Serbian artist Ognjen Tadić created during a two-month residence within the project KAIR Košice Artist in Residence. In his work, the author was inspired by the local story of Roman Anděl about the revelation of a forest spirit during camping near Bukovec and at the same time a Slavic legend of a forest demon named Leshy.
Ana Gabelaia is a Georgian curator who arrived from Tbilisi for a residency research stay. The concept of the exhibition and the potential artists are still subject of the research, but before her return to Georgia, Ana will host a curator’s talk where she will present the draft of the project and share the residency experience in Košice.
The first workshop dedicated to children will focus on developing their creativity as a game with identity. Children will design and create their own Leshy, guardian of the forest, a creature from Slavic mythology. Together we will make masks of various shapes and colors by adding various components that children collect in nature or bring them from home.
In the summer edition of Open Studios Night, our newest residency artists – Ognjen Tadić from Novi Sad, Serbia and Ana Gabelaia from Tbilisi, Georgia will introduce themselves.
The exhibiting project of Hungarian artist Judit Lilla Molnár is the outcome of a 3-month residency stay within the project KAIR Košice Artist in Residence. It conceptually follows-up to the previous artistic realizations, through which the author sensitively reacts to specific social problems of the young generation.
