Blanka Gyori (HU)

Residency: July - September 2018

Blanka Gyori (*1989) is a Hungarian artist, based in Budapest whose work you could have seen at many exhibitions – solo and group ones. She finished her studies in 2015 at the Department of Painting at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and most of her works are dealing with identity building, time and recollection. Blanka observes connections between personal experiences and historical or cultural phenomena. She usually creates installations, which are always different in character and the objects involved create a context between one another. Mostly she puts highly personal and factual story next to metaphoric minimalistic objects. The specific space also determines the composition and the viewers are invited to have a walk and interconnect with works themselves.

The residency program is supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council. The stay is also supported by Košice city and Creative Industry Košice.
