K.A.I.R. – Košice Artist in Residence in cooperation with Youkobo Art Space invites artists from Japan to apply for two months residency in Košice, Slovakia.

What we provide

  • Two month residency in Kosice, Eastern Slovakia (October – November 2016)
  • Free accommodation and studio
  • Honorarium 1000€
  • Travel costs maximum  500€
  • Exhibition space in Šopa Gallery
  • Production and PR support

What we demand:

・Searching for artist from Japan, who is open to collaborate with local artists. The artist should work on the site-specific project reflecting environment of the city. Only individuals are eligible to apply for the residency.

・One presentation during the residency (Open Studios Night) and final presentation/exhibition at the end of the residency.

・Compulsory attendance

・Applications including Project proposal , Portfolio, Curriculum Vitae with basic information (Name, Address, Email, Website)

 

The completed application no larger than 2 MB must consist of three PDF files, all written in English:

1: Project proposal: We would like to know your motivation and the basic ideas for your project in Košice.

2: Portfolio: The works you consider as most relevant to the topic of your project. (maximum 10 pages)

3: Curriculum Vitae
