Open Call for Artists Based in Germany
K.A.I.R. – Košice Artist in Residence with the support of Goethe – Institut in Slovakia invites artists based in Germany to apply for three-month residency in Košice, Slovakia.

Who are we looking for?
K.A.I.R. Košice Artist in Residence is the international Artist-in-Residence program for the artists from all over the world and out of all artistic disciplines and expressions. K.A.I.R. is strongly focused on the creation of international cooperation between the Slovak and foreign artists and art organizations.
In 2016, we started to focus our residencies organized with Goethe – Institut in Bratislava, on art & science projects. In 2018 we would like to discuss the topics connected with the scientific field ecology. We are searching for artists working with bio art, processual art, experimental and site-specific projects, interdisciplinary projects, sound art or new media art, interested in issues of climate change, ecosystems, sustainability, destruction and renewal. The final result of the residency will be shown in Šopa Gallery.
What we provide
– Three-month residency in Kosice, Eastern Slovakia (12th of March – 11th of June 2018)
– Free accommodation and studio
– Honorarium 2100€
– Travel costs maximum 300€
– Guidance, production support and contacts to the local artists and experts.
What we expect
– The residency artist should prepare one workshop or lecture for local artists, presentation during the Open Studios Night and final presentation/exhibition at the end of the residency.
– Compulsory attendance
– Only individuals are eligible to apply for the residency.
