Anna Till (GER)
Choreographer and dancer Anna Till lives and works in Dresden and Berlin (GER). In her dance works, Anna investigates reciprocal relationships between language, form and movement and alienates ordinary motion sequences through abstraction, slowdown processes and repetition. Minimal shifts and displacements create new meaning. Everyday movements are placed on stage and transformed over and over again – until they don`t remain familiar anymore. The spectator is confronted with her/his way of reading performative situations on stage. The area of tension between illusion and so called reality, between body as a symbol and the creation of meaning, between smiling and grinning – are objectives of her artistic interest.
Anna Till studied „Contemporary Dance, Context, Choreography“ at HZT Berlin (Inter-University Centre for Dance) and „Cultural Theory“ at Leuphana-Unversity Lüneburg. As guest student she took part in the curriculum oft CNDC Angers in France (Centre National de la Danse Contemporaine d`Angers). 2010 she received the danceWEB scholarship. In collaboration with artists from different fields (music, fine arts, literature, set design, photography) she develops choreographic works which were – amongst other places – presented at Théatre du Quai Angers (FR), École des Sables-Jant-Bi (SEN), Room Dances Festival Tel Aviv/Jerusalem (ISR), Ponec Theatre Prague (CZ), tanzhaus NRW Düsseldorf (GER), Sophiensaele Berlin (GER), Schaubühne Lindenfels and LOFFT Leipzig (GER) and HELLERAU-European Centre of the Arts Dresden (GER).

Together with choreographer Christina Ciupke she realized the project „undo, redo and repeat“ – a reflection on dance history funded by German Federal Cultural Foundation – which is presented as performance, exhibition and website (www.undo-redo-repeat.de). Anna Till is part of „Shifting Realities“, a long lasting artistic exchange between young German and African choreographers. In cooperation with HELLERAU-European Centre of the Arts Dresden she currently realized the dance piece “FLAT SCREAM” which toured to Prague in the frame of the Festival “Dance transit. PRAHA. LEIPZIG. DRESDEN”. Additionally to her choreographic practice Anna Till teaches movement-workshops for people of all age and gender. She is involved in directing community projects and coaching. She develops and co-curates exhibitions at Kunstverein Heidelberg and Kunsthaus Dresden. Since 2011 Anna Till is an active member of the freelance dance network TanzNetzDresden (www.tanznetzdresden.de).
Heeb She
Anna will spend three months at residency in Košice in the space of cultural center Tabačka Kulturfabrik. During the residency, she will cooperate with local dance group called Heeb She. The main interest of the group is informal education, audience development and raising awareness of the contemporary dance within the group of non-dancers. They organize classes of various dance (or movement) techniques which are open for dancers together with non-dancers. Through the direct experience, they bring contemporary dance and the forms of its presentation to the young people and break down the barriers in its perception. The main reason for this activity is that Heeb She sees the necessity to strengthen the group, which has ambition to engage in the field of contemporary art in the city where this genre still doesn´t have its place. Through the known techniques of contemporary dance, the group has tendency to discover possibilities of movement of individual body to use their own movement techniques. They explore human body, space, ground, skeletal and muscle system and relation between those elements.
The residency is generously supported by Goethe – Institut in Bratislava.
Choreografka a tanečníčka Anna Till žije a pracuje v Drážďanoch a Berlíne. Vo svojich tanečných prácach skúma vzájomný vzťah medzi jazykom, formou a pohybom. Bežné pohyby rozdeľuje do pohybových sekvencií prostredníctvom abstrakcie, procesov spomalenia a opakovania. Aj veľmi malé zmeny a posuny vytvárajú nové významy. Každodenné pohyby sú umiestnené na pódium a zmenené znovu a znovu – až kým sa stanú nerozpoznateľnými. Divák je konfrontovaný s vlastným spôsobom čítania performatívnych situácií na pódiu. Predmetom jej umeleckého záujmu je oblasť napätia medzi ilúziou a takzvanou realitou, medzi telom ako symbolom a tvorbou významu, medzi usmievaním sa a pousmiatím sa.
Anna Till študovala “Súčasný tanec, kontext a choreografiu” na HZT Berlín a “Kultúrnu teóriu” na Leuphana- University v Lüneburgu. Ako hosťujúca študentka navštevovala CNDC Angers vo Francúzsku (Centre National de la Danse Contemporaine d`Angers) a v roku 2010 získala danceWEB štipendium. Pri svojej tvorbe spolupracuje s umelcami z rôznych odvetví (hudba, výtvarné umenie, literatúra, scénografia, fotografia). Spolu s choreografkou Christinou Ciupke realizovala projekt “undo, redo and repeat”, ktorý je reflexiou na históriu tanca a je prezentovaný vo forme performance, výstavy a webovej stránky (www.undo-redo-repeat.de). Zároveň sa venuje projektu dlhodobej umeleckej výmeny medzi mladými nemeckými a africkými choreografmi “Shifting Realities”. V spolupráci s HELLERAU-European Centre of the Arts prednedávnom realizovala tanečné predstavenie “FLAT SCREAM”, ktoré bolo prezentované aj v Prahe na festivale “Dance transit. PRAHA. LEIPZIG. DRESDEN”. Okrem choreografickej praxe vedie Anna pohybový workshop pre ľudí každého veku a pohlavia, je zapojená do riadenia komunitných projektov a je kurátorkou výstav v Kunstverein Heidelberg a Kunsthaus Dresden. Od roku 2011 je aktívnou členkou siete tanečníkov TanzNetzDresden (www.tanznetzdresden.de).

Anna Till sa zúčastní trojmesačného rezidenčného pobytu v Košiciach v priestoroch kultúrneho centra Tabačka Kulturfabrik. Počas rezidencie bude spolupracovať s miestnou tanečnou skupinou Heeb She. Skupina vznikla v roku 2012 z neformálnej skupiny tanečníkov pôsobiacich na východnom Slovensku, príležitostne sa stretávajúcich na rôznych projektoch. V súčasnosti pôsobí ako tanečné zoskupenie zamerané predovšetkým na súčasný tanec. Vo svojej tvorbe využíva rôzne techniky pohybu, vlastnú kreativitu a identitu zameranú hlavne na odburávanie pohybových stereotypov a naučených tanečných vzorcov.
Rezidenčný pobyt je štedro podporený Goetheho inštitútom v Bratislave.
